We have the opportunity for a Maintenance Operative to join our Maintenance team here in the award-winning 4* Brehon Hotel & Spa Killarney.
Objective of the Role: To ensure that the property and premises are maintained to a high standard and to ensure safe working practices at all times within the hotel.
Duties:
1. Pro-actively manage daily workload by using Snapfix, ensuring effective use of available resources including painting, decorating, and gardening.
2. Carry out maintenance tasks, including preventative maintenance routines as per departmental requirements in tiling, plumbing, and carpentry.
3. Conduct regular inspections of the hotel to identify maintenance requirements.
4. Ensure all maintenance procedures are kept up to date.
5. Carry out repairs in a timely manner.
6. Assist plumbers and electricians in rectifying defects or malfunctions in hotel systems.
7. Participate as part of the team responsible for the routine maintenance and upkeep of hotel facilities and the refurbishment of hotel services.
8. Interact with all departments of the hotel.
9. Manage and coordinate the delivery of all Maintenance Management support services.
10. Ensure all work is carried out to the highest professional and safety standards possible.
11. Ensure that all maintenance activities and procedures adhere to applicable Health and Safety legislation, policies, and best practice guidelines.
12. Participate in all training provided.
The candidate should have the following:
1. Experience in plumbing, electrical repairs, painting, and decorating.
2. Ability to work independently and progress on various jobs assigned.
3. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage time, and plan effectively.
4. Positive and confident communicator with the ability to think laterally and work on their own initiative.
5. Enthusiastic and willing to work as part of a team.
6. Proven experience in various aspects of property maintenance.
