Job Title: Building Services Engineer
Location: Cork, Ireland
Salary: 60-70K DOE (Depending on Experience)
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Building Services Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the design, installation, and management of building services systems. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our mechanical and electrical teams to deliver integrated solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the design, specification, and coordination of building services systems (HVAC, lighting, fire safety, plumbing, etc.) for various projects.
* Manage the delivery of building services systems from concept through to commissioning, ensuring compliance with project timelines, quality standards, and local regulations.
* Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and site teams.
* Liaise with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of building systems.
* Prepare detailed calculations, reports, and project documentation.
* Conduct site surveys and inspections to ensure that installations meet design specifications and industry standards.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide effective and sustainable solutions.
* Evaluate and ensure compliance with local and international building codes, regulations, and sustainability standards.
* Monitor and report on project progress, identifying risks and recommending solutions to mitigate delays or issues.
Requirements:
* A degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in building services engineering, ideally within a contracting or consultancy environment.
* In-depth knowledge of building services design, including HVAC, plumbing, fire safety, and electrical systems.
* Proven experience in project management, from design through to delivery and commissioning.
* Strong understanding of Irish building codes and regulations, including energy efficiency and sustainability standards.
* Proficient in design and calculation software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Hevacomp, etc.).
* Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians.
* Fully qualified driving license.
