Ashdale Care is a leading provider of Children’s residential care in Ireland, providing specialist care for children and young people with complex and challenging needs, delivered by our dedicated care staff. The Quality Assurance Auditor reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager, within Ashdale Care.
The Quality Assurance Auditor is directly responsible for planning, auditing and formulating quality control policies, procedures, systems and compliance tools within Ashdale Care. The Quality Assurance Auditor will have no management function and does not manage the performance of teams, but they do ensure that quality controls are kept up to date and information on the same shared with our teams.
The Quality Assurance Auditor is required to be knowledgeable in all current legislation, to carry out Internal Thematic Audits of Ashdale Care Homes in line with Organizational Policy. To complete these Audits in line with the National Standards for Children’s Residential Centres (2001), Child Care Regulations (1996), Ashdale Care's Policies and Procedures, relevant legislation and best practice.
This office-based/hybrid role requires significant engagement and commitment to ensure that all policies are implemented and aligned with our organisational values.
Essential Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills
1. A minimum qualification to Level 7 degree in Social Care or Social Work.
2. A working knowledge of the National Standards for Children’s Residential Centres.
3. Minimum of 3 years’ experience of working within a children’s residential environment or social work environment.
4. Minimum of 1 years’ experience in an auditing capacity.
5. Highly motivated with excellent planning, organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
6. Ability to work independently, manage own time and schedule while travelling from location to location and adhere to deadlines.
7. Applicant must have a full, clean driving license and access to personal transport.
Work Conditions
Travelling will be a large component of this role. The candidate will need a full clean driving licence in order to visit different locations. Office based for administrative duties, but mainly travelling from home to home.
About the Role
Auditing
1. Responsible for conducting thematic audits in allocated homes in line with organisational policy, and/or requested by the Quality Assurance Manager.
2. Meet with staff members to ascertain their understanding of Policies & Procedures, Statement of Purpose & Function, Model of Care and TCI guiding and underpinning practice.
3. Meet with young people, if they are willing and able, to review their placement needs, understand their experience of their placement and staff, gain an understanding of their placement goals and seek to improve the quality of their placement.
4. Provide written audit reports on findings as guided by the above and report directly to the Quality Assurance Manager.
5. Complete a review of the homes' monthly thematic self-audits as completed by home management.
6. Seek assurance that action plans have been completed via either requested upload of evidence or review of the Governance folder.
7. Highlight to the Quality Assurance Manager any deficits in core mandatory training of any home following an audit.
8. Share learnings from inspections via an organisation action plan.
9. Review SERG minutes/all supervisions/policy & procedures & personnel files in the homes.
10. Complete a feedback meeting with the home management team and allocated Regional Manager on completion of an annual full themed audit.
11. Train and guide home management teams during onsite visits on the auditing process and expectations with compliance.
Annual Review of Compliance & Quality Improvement Plans
1. Report any areas of non-compliance as a priority to the Quality Assurance Manager.
2. Support the completion of quality improvement plans and annual compliance reports alongside Home Management teams.
3. Support the current systems and processes in place to influence quality improvement across the homes and enhance the care of our young people and staff members.
Governance
Input to the weekly report which is provided to the Senior Leadership Team via the Quality Assurance Manager.
