We are currently partnering with a leading medical device multi-national client who is looking to hire an experienced Production Unit Manager as they expand their operations. This is a diverse and challenging role.
The Production Manager plays a pivotal role in the business operations, working alongside Production Supervisors and their teams to meet KPIs and outputs and provide overall leadership to the wider organization.
Responsibilities:
1. Works to put in place a strategic plan for the Production Unit.
2. Leverages Lean initiatives as programs and procedures are implemented within the Operational areas / Value Stream to improve safety, quality and customer indicators, reduce waste, improve processes and labor efficiencies, and reduce direct operating expenses.
3. Determines appropriate staff levels, schedules, and resources. Establishes cross-functional team relationships. Works cross-functionally in identifying and resolving technical issues.
4. Establishes clear accountabilities for direct reports and staff to motivate and develop through understanding, personal development, and lifelong learning.
5. Develops, manages, and monitors department budgets.
6. Fosters and recognizes continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
7. Nurtures a risk-taking environment and encourages employees to reach for new milestones.
8. Ensures department adherence to regulatory and GMP requirements.
9. Drives functional excellence initiatives, delivering high-quality functional deliverables.
10. Possesses a broad in-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems and has demonstrated the ability to specify appropriately.
Education and Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing/Engineering field. Master’s preferred.
2. Minimum Experience: 8/10+ years in an operations environment.
3. Experience in the medical device industry.
4. Previous experience working in a role such as Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Operations Manager, or Production Supervisor.
