are being met. Overview:Seeking an experienced Safety & Environmental
Specialist to join the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) team. You will
provide technical guidance to the organization to ensure compliance with legal
requirements related to EHS as well as the company’s corporate standards,
policies, procedures, and guidelines related to EHS and industry best
practices.You will also ensure in conjunction with the EHS team
that all health and safety regulatory requirements on the site are upheld to
the highest standard.EHS experience in Biologics / Pharmaceutical is ideal but
we will consider experience from other scientific regulated industries.RequirementsRequirements:Develop and implement EHS programs to ensure compliance
with local legislation, standards, and industry best practices. Programs include, but are not limited to:Risk assessmentsContractor managementIncident investigationEmergency responseChemical managementWaste managementWater & air managementErgonomicsBio riskEquipment & machine safetyIndustrial hygieneHigh risk work – e.g., hot work, confined space entry,
work at height, etc.Assist operational departments in achieving and
establishing compliance.Demonstrate leadership and a strong desire to protect
employees, our community, and the environment in this world-class facility –
leading with a ’safety first’ mindset.Prepare reports to site, divisional and/or corporate
management and regulatory agencies.Evaluate all EHS applicable requirements for any new
projects and processes (along with other site departments where necessary) as
well as changes in the existing processes and installation. Skills and Qualification Required:Technical bachelor’s degree in environmental health &
safety or Technical Bachelor’s Degree (Science/Engineering).A Post-grad EHS qualification would be a plus.Ideally 3+ years’ EHS experience in Pharmaceutical, or
other highly regulated industry.Proven track record of success in the environmental
health and safety sector.Experience in supporting multiple activities/projects.Ability to influence others across Departments.Technically strong with understanding of a variety of EHS
topics.Innovative & Compliance-minded, with the drive to go
seek out necessary information.‘Safety First’ mind-set.Team player, capable of working within a multi
functionary team environment; and to periodically leading teams.Enthusiastic with a strong drive for results.Self-directed, capable of using own initiative to make
