Job Details: We are seeking applications from energetic and enthusiastic individuals to join our team for the position of Community Inclusion Leader. Candidates must be highly motivated, creative, and experienced with a passion for engaging with individuals on a daily basis. As the Community Inclusion Leader, your role will focus on leading and supervising a team of carers, as well as managing the day-to-day coordination of the day service unit.
The successful candidate will ensure supports are delivered within the framework of New Directions, with an outcome-based individualised approach to services for people with intellectual disabilities. The purpose of the role is to ensure individuals have access to a wide range of community-based services and opportunities to meet their needs, interests, and desires. (Contract is 30 hours per week on Social Care Leader payscale)
Key Responsibilities:
* Leads and manages day services from an operational perspective working with the Assistant CEO.
* Ensures services are delivered in an effective person-centred manner, meeting the needs of the people supported.
* Provides supports within the framework of New Directions.
* Effectively lead, motivate, and support day service leads and staff.
* Liaison person between other services/schools and St Aidan's Services regarding school leavers/new referrals.
* Attend referral/transition meetings and collaborate with individuals and their family/guardians.
* Carry out the role of Safeguarding Designated Officer.
* Ensures that services are delivered in a cost-effective manner.
* To ensure that each person is treated with the utmost respect and dignity.
* To promote a Human Rights Based Approach to working with the people we support.
* To actively seek new interests and opportunities for the people we support.
* To ensure the best possible health and wellbeing of the people we support.
* Ensures that there are effective systems and practices for the people we support and family/carer consultation.
* Ensures the roll out of National Policies across the Service.
* Manage service complaints and service issues constructively.
* Ensures that there is an effective Health & Safety regime operating across all activities.
* To ensure that all Safeguarding concerns are dealt with in a prompt and timely manner.
* To be responsible for ensuring that the work carried out by staff meets the requirement of the care plan.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements:
* Hold a Degree in Social Care or foreign equivalent (validated by QQI).
* Hold a management qualification (advantageous).
* Several years' experience in Disability Services.
* Minimum of 2 years experience in a supervisory capacity.
* Hold a full clean driving licence & willing to drive company vehicles if required.
* Have the legal right to work in Ireland.
Required Skills & Attributes:
* Specialist knowledge of the Intellectual Disability sector.
* Thorough understanding of current thinking in ID services delivery.
* Detailed knowledge of all relevant legislation/regulations/standards.
* Experience of strong relationship building with key sector stakeholders.
* Excellent leadership and motivation skills.
* Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
* Proven organisational and time management skills.
* Excellent Report writing skills.
