Who will I be working with?
Athenry Opticians is a successful well-established optometry practice in Athenry. Because of our growth, we are currently looking to add an ambitious, like-minded, client-focused optical & clinical assistants to our current superstar team. We are known for our clinical expertise and customer service is the core of our business. This role is perfect for you if:
* You are passionate about eyewear and style and clinical care.
* You are comfortable with performing treatments such as facials, etc.
* You like to make personal connections with clients, whether that’s on the phone, in reception or in a dispensing consultation.
* You get a buzz from being on the shop floor, seeing browsers, selling, and getting involved in the day-to-day tasks that happen in a boutique business to create an exceptional experience for customers.
* Your skills are far above the average optical assistant when it comes to communication, understanding customer perceptions, building personal relationships, delivering an experience, and being able to step in at any stage of the customer journey and handle any situation with finesse.
* You’re a team player – getting involved in setting the practice up each morning, greeting clients as they arrive, quality control and checking in clients, assisting clients in choosing new eyewear. You’ll do whatever it takes to deliver an exceptional experience to a client.
* You’re not interested in “only getting your wages”, but in developing your skills and your career, and making a positive contribution to a business establishment and the community it serves.

* A background as a beauty therapist experienced in IPL, etc. would be beneficial.

Minimum Requirements:
* Minimum 1 year managerial experience and 2-3 years of optical experience essential.
Starting Salary:
€16.50-€19.00 per hour depending on experience plus generous performance-based monthly bonus.
Hours:
37.5 hours (5 days) per week, 10.00 a.m. – 6.00 p.m. Monday to Saturday. One Saturday off per month. Saturday 10.00 a.m. - 4.00 p.m.
