CSR is currently working with a well-established construction firm recognized for delivering high-quality healthcare, residential, and commercial projects across Ireland. We are now seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to oversee the construction of a new Primary Care Centre in County Leitrim. This project is a cornerstone in the development of essential healthcare infrastructure in the region, and we are looking for an experienced professional to ensure its successful delivery.
Role Overview:
The Senior Engineer will be responsible for managing all engineering and technical aspects of the project. This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership, technical expertise, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance within project timelines and budget.
Key Responsibilities:
* Site Management: Supervise and coordinate all on-site engineering activities to ensure smooth project progression.
* Setting Out: Accurately set out all structural, civil, and architectural elements of the project using the latest surveying equipment.
* Quality Control: Monitor and inspect construction activities to ensure adherence to design specifications, drawings, and industry standards.
* Technical Support: Provide engineering guidance and solutions to the project team, subcontractors, and suppliers.
* Programme Management: Assist in developing and maintaining the project programme, ensuring key milestones are achieved.
* Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all works are carried out in line with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment.
* Reporting: Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, as-built drawings, and progress reports.
* Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential project risks, ensuring issues are resolved promptly.
Requirements:
* Experience: 5+ years of experience as an engineer in construction, with at least 3 years in a senior role. Experience with healthcare or commercial projects is a distinct advantage.
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field. Chartered status (e.g., Engineers Ireland) is desirable but not essential.
* Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of setting out techniques, construction methodologies, and modern surveying equipment.
* Knowledge of Regulations: Familiarity with Irish building codes, planning permissions, and health and safety standards.
* Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage and lead teams, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
* Problem-Solving Ability: Strong analytical and decision-making skills with a focus on delivering results.
* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with clients, contractors, and team members.
* Software Proficiency: Experience with construction software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools is advantageous.
