The Opportunity:
We are currently recruiting a Geospatial Consultant to join our Digital Engineering Department in the Sales & Estimating team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a Geospatial background looking to widen their experience in Laser Scanning, BIM & Digital Twin projects within the expeditious Geospatial industry. This role is to provide commercial assistance & sales support to the department sales manager but also assisting the wider MGS commercial team in their tender preparations to ensure client requirements are met to a high standard and their expectations. The successful applicant will be reporting to the Digital Engineering Sales Manager.
What will I be doing in my new role?
Using a combination of methods including your geospatial background, in house metrics, lead generation, client visits, market intelligence and post sales follow-up, you will assist the Sales manager with on-going relationship management and service reviews to retain clients and develop future business.
In this role, your day to day will involve reviewing invitations to tenders as they arrive, notifying MGS inter sales departments of inclusion, ensure adequate information is present in scope documents, develop sales proposals and tender submissions for prospective works within time constraints.
Key to this position will be maintaining and updating our CRM systems, conducting market analysis, identifying tracking, and managing a pipeline of business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Working collaboratively with our wider BIM & Digital Twin Environments on key projects
Reviewing, understanding & requesting further information or clarifications on tender scope documents
Understanding of all MGS offerings with ability to recognise further service opportunities
Taking ownership of client feedback to assist with process improvements
Validating and Controlling the project scope, Quality Management, Risk Management and coordinating stakeholder engagement
Reviewing and optimizing estimating workflows for each service proposal
Reviewing the weekly operation status report and creating lessons learned
Being the cross department representative for Digital Engineering knowledge base and support
Providing technical expertise on project matters relating to spatial data and differentiating roles accordingly
Ensuring compliance with all current regulations and internal policies on sales proposals
Promoting a safety culture and providing recommendations
Client relationship Management Support
Consulting with client Representatives – maintaining & earning trust of clients through our expertise and knowledge
Ensuring alignment with MGS Vision and Values – Respect, Innovation, Community, and Integrity
Supporting with the implementation of our “Geo-Cert” Platform
Ensuring client expectations are met with MGS validated output and care
Consulting and support with clients on Geospatial best practice and Methodology
Providing leadership to clients, staff and department in technology and technical related questions
Discovering and implementing innovative technologies that yield competitive advantage
Evaluating and implementing new workflows whilst also helping department use technology profitably
Facilitating business growth by collaborating with clients as well as business partners (suppliers, subcontractors, JV partners, technology providers, etc.)
Requirements of the role:
Experience in working with BIM
Working knowledge of ISO19650
BIM, Geomatics or Civil Engineering Qualifications (Preferable but not essential)
Previous experience in the geospatial/surveying industry (Preferable but not essential)
Ability to comply with deadlines and delivery dates
Ability to communicate technical information effectively.
Commercially savvy with an exceptional understanding of financials and deadlines.
Possess a full clean Irish/EU driving licence.
The right to work in Ireland.
Skills that enable collaboration and communication, including the use of Microsoft Office & AutoCAD suites
