Job Description
Accredited Counsellor/Therapists are required for the HSE Counselling Primary Care (CIPC) service in Midlands – Laois, Offaly, Westmeath and Longford CHO 8.
About CIPC
CIPC is the provision of short-term counselling in primary care settings to medical card holders aged 18 years and over by accredited, professionally qualified Counsellor/Therapists and Psychologists under the governance of the HSE National Counselling Service.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide short-term counselling services to clients in primary care settings.
* Work with adult survivors of childhood trauma on a trauma-informed counselling contract basis (dependent on relevant clinical experience).
Requirements
1. A recognised Level 7 qualification (QQI) in a relevant human science discipline or equivalent in a health and social care profession or health-related profession.
2. Either:
o (a) Hold a degree or post-graduate qualification in counselling, or psychotherapy recognised by one of the following: IACP, a relevant body within ICP, or IABCP.
o (b) Have full accredited membership with IACP, IABCP, or a relevant body within ICP.
o (c) Hold a post-graduate qualification in counselling psychology or clinical psychology recognised by PSI.
o (d) Have commenced the registration process with PSI or be fully registered with the clinical or counselling psychology division of PSI.
3. Have a minimum of two years' relevant post-qualification experience (may not apply for some full-time post-graduate qualifications).
