About Our Role
We are seeking a skilled Buyer to support our global and strategic procurement initiatives. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver on strategic sourcing requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Sourcing raw materials aligned with site manufacturing requirements, in collaboration with Operations and Engineering teams to understand needs and identify lead times.
* Actioning requests for quotation pricing for spares, identifying suitable suppliers and collaborating with Commercial teams on customer requirements and lead times.
* Supporting New Units pricing based on commercial requests for quotation and undertaking purchase order placement.
* Negotiating supplier agreements ensuring favorable commercial terms and conditions.
* Managing new supplier qualifications and ensuring onboarding aligns with required standards.
* Overseeing supplier validation and reinstatement requirements.
* Handling negotiations regarding price increases from existing suppliers.
* Identifying opportunities for and negotiating long-term supply agreements.
* Executing supplier rationalization and transitions to achieve agreed percentage reductions in the supplier base/cost to the business.
* Measuring supplier performance against agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
* Supporting first article negotiations with suppliers and procurement of materials.
* Assisting with capital expenditure projects pricing and placement of purchase orders.
* Negotiating with freight forwarders and establishing long-term supply agreements.
* Preparing data for supply chain reporting requirements.
* Raising purchase orders to ensure accurate and timely procurement to meet customer demand.
* Approving purchase requisitions.
* Reviewing and maintaining custom codes for purchased materials, communicating updates to freight forwarders.
* Addressing payment requests and supporting yearly standard cost setting exercises.
