Job Description
Reports to: Credit Control Supervisor
The Senior Credit Controller will lead efforts in ensuring efficient loan repayment processes while delivering exceptional service to members. This role involves overseeing credit control activities, managing arrears and debt recovery, and supporting team development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage loan and mortgage repayments in line with member agreements.
2. Oversee monitoring of members’ current account overdrafts and budget accounts.
3. Proactively engage with members in arrears, offering support and understanding their individual circumstances.
4. Lead debt recovery efforts, including liaising with solicitors and debt collection firms.
5. Communicate effectively with members and internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements
1. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a credit control function within financial services.
2. A good standard of education.
3. QFA/APA qualification or willingness to work towards it.
4. Strong leadership, administrative, organisational, and communication skills.
5. Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.
6. Team-oriented with a proactive and solution-focused approach.
