Nasc, the Migrant and Refugee Rights Centre is recruiting a Finance and Operations Assistant to support Nasc's financial and operations functions. This is a 12-month position which may be renewed subject to funding and passing probation. Job summaryReporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance and Operations Assistant will play a key role in the smooth running of our finance and operational processes. This hybrid role offers flexible working arrangements.This role might suit: A part-qualified Accounting Technician or book-keeper.Someone with experience gained in another country who is looking to bring their skills to a new environment.A professional returning to work after a career break, seeking flexibility and a supportive teamKey ResponsibilitiesAssist with day-to-day financial operations, including invoicing, payments, and reconciliations.Create and maintain records and databases with financial and other data as required (petty cash etc).Support the Finance Manager with month-end processes, including preparation of financial reports.Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.Assist in operational tasks such as procurement, supplier management, and administrative duties.Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth financial workflows.Contribute to process improvement initiatives and help identify efficiencies.Ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager.Person SpecificationEssentialSome exposure to finance or operations (internships, part-time roles, or prior professional experience will be considered).Fluency in English (written and verbal to minimum B2 level).Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.A keen interest in developing a career in finance and operations.Proactive and eager to learn.Ability to prioritise tasks, work to deadlines, multitask, and detail-focused.Understanding of GDPR and handling of sensitive information DesirableA qualification in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is an advantage.Experience with Quickbooks and Collsoft is desirable.Applicants must have the right to work in Ireland for the duration of the employment.
