Ground Services Manager
The Ground Services Manager is a critical role at our airport in the West of Ireland, responsible for overseeing all ground handling activities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage ramp activities, including marshalling aircraft, loading/unloading, baggage handling, passenger handling, aircraft refueling and de-icing.
* Evaluate and improve the safe turnaround of aircraft, adhering to quality, efficiency, safety, legal and environmental objectives.
* Procure, manage and maintain vehicles and ground support equipment, ensuring they are available when required.
* Oversee winter operations, coordinating runway de-icing and snow clearance of airside areas, guaranteeing serviceable equipment and sufficient stocks of de-icing fluids.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to develop sustainability initiatives, reducing the environmental impact of ground operations through alternative fuel programs, energy-efficient technologies, and waste reduction strategies.
* Maintain all necessary manuals, documents, and records, adhering to company, statutory, and legal requirements, while completing associated administrative tasks in a timely manner.
* Promote Ground Services during internal and external regulatory audits.
* Foster a work environment emphasizing safety, service, teamwork, and flexibility.
* Create efficient staff rosters and monitor hours.
* Ensure staff receive appropriate training and are competent to perform duties to a high standard, focusing on safety, customer service, and efficiency.
* Develop and review safe working procedures for ground services, documenting them in the safety management system.
* Investigate accidents and incidents, implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence and compiling complete accident reports.
* Manage departmental expenditures within established budgets, following company financial policies.
* Monitor, measure, and report operational issues and opportunities related to the department.
* Establish emergency planning and contingency plans.
Requirements:
* A qualification in Aeronautical / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with strong technical and mechanical skills.
* No less than 5 years of experience in Airport ground operations or similar roles.
* In-depth knowledge of Aviation regulations, particularly EASA 139/2014 and Jig Standards.
* Previous experience in people management, leading, developing, and motivating teams.
* Proficiency in IT Skills.
* Project management and implementation experience.
