Job Summary:
CERENOVUS, part of the Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices Companies, is recruiting for a Research & Development Project Manager, located in Galway, Ireland.
As R&D Project Manager, you will be part of the Cerenovus R&D team in Galway, Ireland; an exciting group of engineers and scientists dedicated to understanding unmet needs in neurovascular diseases (such as stroke) and developing innovative device solutions to improve their treatment.
The responsibilities and the impact YOU will have:
As R&D Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing new catheter development project(s) and providing technical leadership to a team of engineers and scientists in the development of acute ischemic stroke catheters and devices. The role involves:
Technical Responsibilities
* Provide technical leadership and take ownership of critical technical tasks in the execution of new product development projects.
* Liaise with key opinion leaders to develop a deep understanding of the disease state and gather user needs.
* Translate needs requirements into technical specifications.
* Foster a culture of creativity; generate creative product solutions to address unmet needs.
* Provide leadership in the development of test models for prototype performance evaluations and product materials selection.
* Identify and manage key technical risks and appropriate mitigations throughout the product lifecycle.
* Write and/or review procedures, protocols, specifications, and reports.
* Support generation of Intellectual Property by filing new ideas and drafting patents as required.
Program Management Responsibilities
* Develop detailed technical project goals, plans, and budget.
* Identify critical project tasks and set team priorities.
* Manage direct team and across functions to deliver on performance, time, and cost targets.
* Report progress across the organisation.
* Manage project in accordance with quality system.
* Attend external meetings with key opinion leaders to present the Cerenovus product portfolio.
Qualifications
We would love to hear from YOU, if you have the following essential requirements:
Education:
* Honours degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience and skills:
* A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the medical device industry with experience in technical project leadership.
* Strong technical leadership capability.
* Strong design, development, and technical ability based on a solid foundation of engineering principles.
* Excellent writing, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
