The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As a Supplier Excellence Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Driving and leading implementation of Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) across Solventum to achieve measurable and increasing net cost reductions of existing products and materials.
* Partnering with suppliers to evaluate alternative materials, components, and manufacturing processes that offer cost savings without compromising product quality or performance.
* Managing the change management process of moving materials from non-strategic to strategic suppliers, while improving costs for the same.
* Ensuring complete validation and qualification by working with quality, manufacturing and other stakeholders.
You will also be responsible for recommending and deploying dual/multi sources of supply to ensure continuity of supply of key products and managing the change management process throughout implementation.
Your Skills and Expertise
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain/Engineering or business related field, technical degree preferred.
* 7-10 Years of Engineering/Manufacturing Experience.
* Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include Master's degree in Supply Chain/Engineering or business related field from an accredited institution, experience implementing significant improvements or establishing procurement industry best practices across functional areas, strong track record of driving operational improvements (e.g. cost savings) to support the business strategy, influential with the ability to articulate and drive teams toward a common goal, familiarity with VAVE tools and processes, excellent communication skills across various organizational levels, excellent negotiation skills and proven success working under pressure while driving projects to closure.
Work Location and Travel
This role is eligible for hybrid work arrangements, with eligibility to work in Athlone (Ireland), Kamen (Germany) or Wroclaw (Poland). Travel may include up to 30% domestic and international travel, but relocation assistance is not authorized.
