Key Requirements of the Post
The GM is responsible for the operational and people management as well as financial performance of the hospital. Working closely with the Hospital Clinical Lead (Consultant Surgeon) to ensure that the hospital delivers in a safe environment, clinical excellence and market leading outcomes for all patients whilst meeting the hospitals commercial targets.
Leading a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians and customer service staff, the GM will ensure that the hospital has the right resources in place to meet or exceed its business plan,
You will lead the implementation of all Veonet Ireland policies and pathways within the hospital, ensuring that all patients, regardless of location visited, receive consistent, safe and highly efficient care.
Key Tasks
* Recruit, lead and manage a high-performing multi-disciplinary hospital team.
* Development and implementation of strategies to optimise hospital operations.
* Scheduling of clinical services in line with contract requirements and patient volumes, making efficient use of all resources
* Drive continuous improvement by analysing data and identifying opportunities for improved outcomes and operational efficiencies.
* Ownership of business plan, ensuring financial, patient volumes and satisfaction rates are met at a minimum.
* Evidence that services and staff adhere to Veonet Ireland Governance Framework and local legislative, regulatory and governance requirements.
* Management of complaints, ensuring learning is shared nationally and embedded in service improvements.
* Working with Clinical Lead, ensure that clinical training and governance is adhered to and reported in line with VI requirements.
* Working with the Business Development Team, build and maintain referral pathways and local partnerships to maximise opportunities for growth.
* Where applicable, hold the registered manager designation for Regulatory Bodies (RQIA in NI)
* Lead on incidents, safeguarding alerts and complaints relating to the hospital(s). Ensuring that these are investigated fully and learnings from unexpected events, errors/omissions is actioned to eradicate risk for future occurrence.
* As required, support with reporting and presentations relating to the hospital with funders
* Ensure the hospital Business Continuity Plan is in place and tested 6 monthly.
* Ensure that the hospital is fully compliant with the required safety standards, including Clinical Equipment Servicing and H&S.
* Own and manage the hospital specific risk register.
* Promote innovative practice in operational delivery for the benefit of patients and colleagues as well as operational goal achievement.
* Support development and succession planning within team.
* Ensure that Patient Experience and satisfaction is monitored and reported – with remedial action taken.
* Constantly strive to improve performance of the hospital and share best practice with colleagues.
