RPS has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager (Transport) to join our Transport Infrastructure business based in Ireland. This is a hybrid role and offices available are Dublin, Galway, Cork, Sligo and Kilkenny.
About The Transport Infrastructure Business:
With more than half the world’s population now living in urban areas, smart, safe and sustainable transport is one of the most crucial, yet complex questions facing our cities. Designing and delivering locally relevant transport systems requires careful consideration of many issues – from the impact on local ecosystems and land uses, to preferred models of funding, and the unique needs of communities and customers.
We provide technical and advisory services across the entire project lifecycle. About The Role:
The Senior Project Manager in Transport will manage the planning and delivery of projects from Inception through Planning, Design and Construction.
Responsibilities:
1. Ensure RPS quality and management procedures are complied with.
2. Establish project objectives and develop project plans, budget and schedule in compliance with RPS procedures.
3. Build trusting relationships with our Clients.
4. Maintain a safe working environment for staff under your control.
5. Monitor the progress of projects and provide regular performance reports on completion status, programme and finances.
6. Liaise with and coordinate project delivery with the leads of the various technical delivery teams.
7. Identify project risks and deviations from programme or budget and prepare plans for mitigations.
Key Skills & Attributes:
1. Track record of experience as Project Manager in Transport or related projects.
2. Experienced in the design of Transport projects (technical skills are an advantage).
3. Experience in delivery of sustainable transport - Rail, Active Travel, Greenways and advantage.
4. Minimum of 10 years’ experience across planning, design and/or construction phases.
5. Strong financial management and budgetary control skills.
6. Strong programming and resource management skills (including use of Microsoft Project, Primavera P6 or similar).
7. Strong communication and presentation skills.
8. Strong organization, prioritization, and time management skills.
9. Proven ability to monitor and handle multiple projects at the same time, balance key priorities and meet challenging and changing deadlines.
10. High resilience, proactive problem-solving skills, and strong negotiation skills.
11. Demonstrated ability to create a team culture of camaraderie, integrity and trust, among multination and multicultural teams.
12. Strong track record in liaising with Clients and working with them to achieve the required solutions.
Qualifications:
* A Level 8 honours degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
* Chartered Engineer (or equivalent) status is essential.
* Ideally a Level 9 master’s degree in engineering or cognate discipline.
* Other specialist qualification in a transport related discipline is an advantage.
