At AECOM, we are recruiting a Data Centre- Project Director to join us in our Dublin office.
Here’s what you’ll do:
Your day-to-day will include but not be limited to the following tasks and responsibilities;
As Data Centre- Project Director you will be expected to be client and people focused, determined and responsible working with Project Management and Cost Management (PMCM) Director to successfully develop and grow our Clients and manage a team delivering projects across Ireland, UK and Europe.
Job Duties
* Lead a Project & Cost Management team delivering various commissions, taking accountability for their successful delivery.
* Provide effective support and mentoring to junior staff.
* Ensures commissions are managed and completed efficiently, on time and to the client’s satisfaction.
* Develops strong reciprocal relationships with clients and members of the project team, building a strong team spirit and work ethic.
* Be the primary interface with AECOM clients (new and existing).
* Ensure all staff members reporting to you have current and relevant training.
* Manage the delivery of project management team outputs, in accordance with agreed timescales and quality standards.
* Managing and motivating the Team.
* Monitors the main drivers or indicators of commercial performance and can interpret their long-term impact on business performance.
Approach to all projects requires a high degree of flexibility and creativity, excellent presentational skills and an ability to communicate effectively with clients and consultants. The successful candidate shall be charged with the delivery of Project and Cost Management Services within our Client focused and highly motivated professional team.

Here’s what we’re looking for:
1. Degree Qualified – BSc or MSc – in Engineering or other design related profession.
2. Professionally Qualified – ideally Chartered Engineer or other equivalent institution.
3. 10 years + proven experience in a consulting, client facing environment providing the full spectrum of PMCM services including Client Account Management (CAM)
4. Be passionate about delivering high quality consulting services to our clients.
5. Understanding of the standard forms of contract utilized in the sector
6. Proven ability to advise clients and design teams on value, risk and programme in a holistic way.
7. Excellent IT Skills and the ability to utilise current digital tools are essential.
8. Excellent numeracy, verbal, and written communication skills.
9. Willingness to challenge in a positive and engaging manner.
10. Ability to manage relationships effectively, identifying and resolving issues at the earliest possible opportunity.
11. Possesses strong people management skills and the ability to manage relationships both internally and externally.
12. Be accountable and responsible for own actions and those of your team.
13. Ability to work under own initiative where appropriate working closely with the Management Team in the delivery of some of our highest profile project.
14. Keen to work as part of a team and to develop and progress career development.
15. Engenders a right first-time approach.
16. Understand the fundamentals of the internal AECOM management systems and undertake Project Management or Project Approver duties in Workbench and to be commercially aware.
17. Supporter of social and CSR activities, promoting a positive and enjoyable workplace.
18. Experienced in managing, motivating, and developing a project team.
19. Experienced client account manager for a major framework and/or client.
20. Is responsible for managing senior level customer relationships.
21. Ability and experience of building positive long-term relationships with clients.
22. Demonstrates the ability to lead multi-disciplinary and/or major PMCM bids
23. Demonstrates the ability to win work and is accountable for the profitable delivery of the projects.
24. Experience of managing in-house project finances.
25. Ability to manage multiple projects for a variety of public and private sector clients.
26. Lead and deliver multiple, medium to high complexity projects
27. Thinks strategically and challenges the status quo, welcoming all ideas for improvement.
28. Demonstrate commercial acumen.
29. Have an ability to quantify long term risk in order to identify benefit to the business and considers ways to minimize risk in taking high level decisions.
30. Create a culture and an empowering environment where others share knowledge, insights and learning and enjoy working for AECOM.
31. Demonstrate an active involvement in extracurricular activities and contribution to the practice outside of day to day project/client work
32. Demonstrates significant experience of working in a specialist field and a good working knowledge of the issues involved in that specialist area
33. Mentors Managers in activities to drive a culture of technical excellence.
34. Takes responsibility for the health, safety and wellbeing of all staff.
