The Lakeland Dairies Co-operative Society Limited is a complex and ambitious dairy processor with a milk supply pool of 2 billion litres drawn from over 3,200 family farms across 16 counties.
We operate the most modern dairy manufacturing facilities in 8 locations on a cross-border basis, supplying to a broad customer base including some of the world's foremost blue-chip companies across the dairy food ingredients, foodservice, and consumer food channels on a domestic Ireland, UK, European, and global basis.
The Role
As part of our team of multi-skilled engineering technicians, you will provide essential planned and emergency maintenance on site to ensure the smooth and efficient running of our plant 365 days a year.
We operate a rotating shift pattern (including nights and weekends).
Key Responsibilities:
* Support engineering initiatives to maximise production line efficiencies.
* Proactively participate in fault-finding and problem-solving activities within production and services, including electrical and mechanical process troubleshooting.
* Complete mechanical and electrical repairs to high-speed food processing, handling, and packaging equipment.
* Provide technical support for the plant facilities and services, including compressed air, steam, refrigeration systems, and effluent plant.
* Participate in preventative maintenance programmes and ensure all work is carried out in line with manufacturers' guidelines and complies with company and legal requirements.
* Participate as required on the planning and installation of new projects or equipment.
Requirements:
* A relevant qualification such as ONC/OND in Engineering, C&G, or equivalent qualified, plus Engineering apprenticeship time served.
* The ability to read and interpret specifications and diagrams and apply this in a working environment.
* The ability to demonstrate experience of electrical and mechanical fault-finding/problem solving.
* Good working knowledge of current electrical standards and requirements.
* Computer literacy with Microsoft Office packages.
* The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A flexible attitude towards work and hours and willing to work continental shift patterns.
