Summary:
Our client, a biopharmaceutical company located in East Cork, is seeking an Accountant (Payroll) to join their team.
The right candidate will provide support to the Payroll and Finance teams by preparing all transactional and accrual journal entries, reconciling payroll related accounts, performing payroll data audits, and other projects as required.
Responsibilities:
Ensure the timely and accurate review and posting of month-end close and accounting transactions, including P&L and balance sheet account analysis, review, reconciliation, and resolution.
Perform month-end close activities, including preparing monthly payroll-related journal entries, accruals, and adjustments, in accordance with company policies and accounting guidelines.
Prepare month-end reconciliations of key payroll-related balance sheet accounts and actively manage the resolution of open items.
Maintain ledger integrity and ensure financial compliance with the Worldwide Controllers Manual and all applicable laws and regulations.
Ensure financial records comply with GAAP.
Maintain strong internal controls, ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and the Worldwide Controllers Manual.
Oversee SOX controls, providing training and support to the team in this area.
Support quarter-end, interim, and year-end audits, providing timely and accurate data to internal and external auditors.
Act as a liaison with Controllership to address and manage requests.
Collaborate with business partners, including RTR, Tax, and FP&A, for reporting, analysis, and monthly review calls.
Lead and oversee Internal Process Efficiency (IPE) within the accounting function, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all accounting requirements.
Work closely with payroll managers to identify and implement process improvements.
Develop and regularly update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Lead and support ad-hoc finance-related projects and system testing as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
Qualified Accountant or equivalent accountancy qualification, with a strong understanding of operations in a multi-country environment within a multinational corporation.
Proven experience in Accounting, Finance, or Payroll roles.
Strong working knowledge of Oracle and SAP.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
