Applications are invited for a temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within UCD School of Architecture, Planning & Environmental Policy.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of a full-time, fixed term until the end of December 2025, Postdoctoral Researcher with Prof Elizabeth Shotton and Dr Daniel McCrum. This project is funded by the SFI-Defence Organisation Innovation Challenge call in collaboration with the Irish Department of Defence and Defence Forces.
The Modular Adaptable SHelter (MASH) project will develop a lightweight, portable, and rapidly deployable shelter to meet the operational needs of the Irish Defence Forces and provide temporary emergency housing solutions, which protect against a range of weather conditions for a variety of operating environments. Building on existing shelter concepts, the solution will be developed through innovative design for manufacture and assembly, modern methods of construction, and design for disassembly (DfD) construction techniques. MASH will significantly impact on defence forces mobility and responsiveness, as well as providing safe, comfortable and durable temporary accommodation.
PD1 Salary: €45,847 - €52,339 per annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent on qualifications and experience.
