CHP (Combined Heat & Power Plant) Technician - Wastewater Treatment
Employment Type: Permanent

Visa: EU passport or Stamp 4 visa required
Our client is Ireland's leading water and wastewater contractor. They design, construct, operate, and maintain water and wastewater treatment plants. Our client is seeking to expand their Engineering team to co-ordinate and deliver capital works across Dublin and other plants.
1. Monitor system performance and take daily readings of the above plant.
2. Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance work on plant.
3. Maintain Engineering area in terms of good housekeeping.
4. Contribute to the identification, quantification, implementation, and presentation of maintenance tasks.
5. Ensure maintenance tasks are completed in accordance with site policies, procedures, and equipment operation and maintenance manuals.
6. Troubleshoot equipment-related process problems and equipment failures to determine cause and investigate repairs.
7. Ensure effective completion and ongoing review of planned equipment maintenance routines on MAXIMO (site CMMS).
8. Ensure all executed maintenance activities are recorded on MAXIMO (site CMMS).
9. Support Engineering and Operations personnel on continuous improvements and monitor equipment to recommend process improvements.
10. Minimise downtime on equipment through fast response, effective root cause analysis, and good problem-solving techniques.
11. Effectively analyze and eliminate recurring equipment problems.
12. Take part in after-hours on-call roster for CHP with one other CHP technician.
13. Contribute to a pleasant and positive teamwork atmosphere.

Requirements
The candidate must have a strong reciprocating engine background with the ability to display a high level of skill and understanding regarding internal combustion engines, generator sets, turbo chargers, intercoolers, ideally natural gas engines, but will consider applicants that have experience with diesel standby or other engine technologies (e.g., compression engines).
1. Knowledge of maintenance of natural and bio gas boilers.
2. Must be available to work overtime and occasionally travel on weekends.
3. Good communication skills, teamwork abilities, and initiative.
4. Proven ability to work well as part of a team & on own with minimum supervision.
5. Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work in a team and/or on own initiative.
6. Strong technical capability with attention to detail.
7. Willing to attend training to improve technical skills.
8. Minimum three years’ experience in this or related industry.
9. Formal training in reference to engines, complex mechanical & electrical systems.
10. Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
11. Preferably a person with some practical training/education (e.g., apprentice program, etc.) Technical Degree or Certification.
12. Electrical knowledge and ATEX qualification would be a distinct advantage.
