My client, based in Dublin, is seeking an experienced Sales Manager. They will be responsible for leading and managing sales activities across Ireland & UK. The role involves managing a team of 8 sales professionals (5 in Ireland and 3 in the UK), building and maintaining relationships with key retail partners, and driving sales growth in line with the company’s objectives.
This role has a competitive salary with a generous package including a company car.
Location:
Dublin based with regular travel across Ireland and to the UK.
Key responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement sales strategies tailored to the retail market in Ireland and the UK, ensuring alignment with overall company goals.
2. Set sales targets and develop plans to achieve them across both regions.
3. Manage a sales team of 8.
4. Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance management to ensure individual and team success.
5. Conduct regular performance reviews, set development plans, and foster a high-performance culture.
6. Build and nurture relationships with key retail partners, ensuring consistent engagement and support.
7. Work closely with retail outlets to optimize product placement, promotions, and sales strategies.
8. Monitor and analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to inform sales strategy adjustments. Provide regular feedback to senior management.
9. Track sales performance against targets, preparing and presenting regular sales reports and forecasts.
10. Identify gaps and opportunities in performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
11. Liaise with marketing, product development, customer service, and operations teams to ensure smooth execution of sales plans.
12. Contribute to product launch strategies and promotional campaigns.
13. Manage the sales budget for the Ireland and UK regions, ensuring optimal use of resources.
14. Oversee sales incentives and commission structures for the team.
Skills and qualifications:
1. Proven experience as a business-to-business Sales Manager, preferably within the retail or consumer goods sector.
2. Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and motivating sales teams to meet or exceed targets.
3. A results-oriented leader with excellent organisational skills and the ability to operate in a diverse and fast-paced environment.
4. Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
5. Deep understanding of the retail landscape in Ireland and the UK.
6. Innovative, solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
7. Strategic mindset with the ability to translate market data into actionable sales strategies.
8. Experienced Office 365 user – Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
9. Willingness to travel frequently across Ireland and The UK.
10. Experience in the bedding or home furnishings sector is advantageous but not essential.
