The post holder will be responsible for co-ordinating the Termination of Pregnancy service and the early gestation dating scan service with a focus on providing high quality clinical care to women.
This post holder is required to coordinate Termination of Pregnancy services in accordance with legislation -Health (Regulation of Termination of Pregnancy) Act 2018.
The coordination will involve prompt and timely interactions with General Practitioners of the region and women accessing the service.
The post holder will provide clinical leadership, expertise and management of the (early gestation) TOP service and the coordination and provision of the new early gestation dating USS service under the governance of the lead consultant in the obstetric ultrasound department.
The CMM2 will carry out duties appropriate to this specialist area.
They will work closely with the CMS Obstetric Ultrasound team assisting them in the operational running and care provided by the midwife led obstetric ultrasound service.
The post holder will work closely with the CMM2 antenatal outpatients services ensuring timely follow up of obstetric care for women.
The post holder will and support and supervise staff and will support clinical care to women on the maternity ward in the event of inpatient management of TOP.
They will provide education to all staff in relation to services they provide.
Based in our purpose designed Cara Suite the Options Service Coordinator will work closely with all the CMS's there providing holistic care to women attending SLGH maternity service.
In addition this role involves referrals to the obstetric ultrasound scanning department and liaison with bed management/CMM2 in order to facilitate admissions when required.
Facilitation of appointments for complications arising from termination of pregnancy is also a key component of this role.
