Responsibilities:
* Maintains knowledge of principles of hard-surface floor maintenance and use proper procedures on hard floor care including stripping and refinishing, burnishing, spray cleaning, and spray buffing.
* Utilize automated equipment for cleaning of large area of floor surface.
* Use the proper procedures on carpet and upholstering including shampooing, damp surface, extractions, spot cleaning, vacuuming, etc.
* Operate the industrial floor care equipment as assigned.
* Perform maintenance and restorative processes for all floor surface types.
* Clean floors: Dry mop, wet mop, sweep, disinfect where and when necessary. Vacuum carpeting/rugs and spot clean. Shampoo carpets as assigned.
* Refinish floors: strip, seal, put on finish and spray buff floors.
* Knowledge of housekeeping equipment (rotary floor buffer and carpet cleaner, extractor, pressure cleaner). Ability to do minor repairs on vacuum cleaners and floor and carpet equipment.
* Follow cleaning schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) as outlined for the ESS Department. Clean assigned areas, furnishings, and fixtures according to established procedures.
* Move and clean furnishings and fixtures, including but not limited to dusting, spot cleaning, and washing. Disinfect when necessary and polish when required.
* Clean offices, dining rooms, break rooms, laundry rooms, resident rooms, resident apartments, storage rooms, halls, stairways, entrances and exits.
* Empty, clean, and reline wastebaskets.
* Perform emergency housekeeping when accidents occur, including but not limited to bodily fluid clean up.
* Straighten or rearrange furniture as directed.
* Remove for cleaning and re-hang when clean, curtains, drapes, or dividers.
Qualification:
* A desire to make a difference!
* Willingness to grow!
* High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
* Proven knowledge of floor care equipment and techniques required.
* Must be able to follow safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks.
* Requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 50 lbs.
* Must have the ability to follow written and/or oral instructions and understand concepts of measurements.
* Ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing.
