The Rose Hotel, a 4-star hotel in Tralee, Co Kerry, seeks Commis Chef applicants to join its kitchen team.
This role involves working in a busy kitchen that caters for food service in the restaurant/bar and room service.
Main Duties:
1. To follow rigorous hygiene regulations and enforce HACCP protocols.
2. To prepare and produce food to agreed standards in conjunction with other chefs.
3. To minimize food wastage.
4. To ensure mise-en-place is ready prior to service.
5. To adhere to strict hygiene regulations.
6. To work collaboratively with colleagues across different kitchen sections.
7. To meet guests' needs and requirements.
8. To maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming.
9. To prioritize health and safety for self, colleagues, guests, and others on premises.
10. To attend fire drills and observe all safety procedures and rules.
11. To report and address incidents of accidents and damage.
12. To participate in training courses as notified by management.
13. To perform any additional duties assigned by management.
Responsibilities:
* Report to the Executive Chef, with Sous Chefs in his absence.
Qualifications:
* Previous experience as a kitchen assistant or commis chef, or suitable qualification.
* Knowledge of food health and safety regulations.
* Culinary school diploma or equivalent qualification, or current student of Culinary Arts.
* A genuine passion and interest in food.
* Flexibility in working hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
* A good command of the English language.
