This contract offers a fixed salary for a duration of two years, as opposed to a position with a daily rate.
Role Purpose An Post is a household name and operates the biggest retail network in Ireland.
Their applications support a wide range of public facing business services including banking and financial services, payment services, mobile phone services and mails services.
The development teams output must be high quality, as the organisations applications process in excess of 130 million transactions annually, therefore we are seeking a skilled and motivated C# Software Developer to join our dynamic development team working on our retail platform.
The ideal candidate will have a background in software development using C# and .NET technologies and will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications, as well as collaborating with multi-functional teams to define and implement innovative solutions.
Responsibilities The principal responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following: Work within the Global Technology Solutions (GTS) Software Development function and engaging with internal collaborators and external partners to help define and deliver the Digital Delivery program.
Develop and maintain web applications using the Microsoft tech stack to support the ongoing delivery of digital services.
Contribute to solution design and architecture discussions.
Engage and collaborate, document and estimate requirements and solutions.
Collaborate and build relationships with An Post internal and external development partners.
Provide oversight to development partners to ensure consistent coding standards are maintained.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of organisational processes and practices.
Stay up to date with emerging web development technologies and industry trends Qualifications You will hold a degree in Computer Science or Engineering, with over 5 years of experience in .NET web development, preferably with Content Management Systems (such as Kentico or WordPress).
You should have experience working within an agile framework.
You will have a solid background in automated unit testing, as well as experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
You should be capable of working under pressure, managing multiple competing priorities, and prioritizing as needed.
Extensive experience with C#, .NET Core, and the Microsoft technology stack is required.
A solid understanding of automated CI/CD pipelines is essential.
Desirable Skills Working knowledge of GitHub and Jira Knowledge of web applications deployed on IIS and Azure Web Apps Familiarity with Relational Databases (SQL Server) and MS Entity Framework Knowledge of frontend frameworks e.g.
React, Angular along with experience designing back-end for Single Page Applications using C# Experience working as technical lead on web development projects would also be an advantage.
