Electrical Validation Test TechnicianTeam Horizon is seeking a Electrical Validation Test Technician for a client in Galway. The Validation Electrical test technician will be responsible for providing complete test solutions for the Electrical testing supporting NPI, Warranty, Product improvements and Failure modes analysis testing activity. The Electrical test engineer will also be responsible for planning and reporting on electrical testing for all project teams.Why you should apply: * Our client has developed a stand-out culture of innovation, inclusion and development, and consistently features as a great place to work. * Excellent contracting rates on offer. * They put their people first and live their diversity and inclusion values embracing all perspectives.What you will be doing:Test Planning and Reporting * Develop customer specific Electrical test plans. * Liaise with R&D project team members to define test cases. * Execution of test suites * Provide detailed reports to the project teams on completed tests. * Provide clear and concise analysis of failure modes to project teamsTest Case Solutions * Schematics and block diagrams for test solutions and developing the electronic hardware and software platforms for function test solutions. * Support projects by recommending proven Electrical design solutions * Operate computer-assisted software applications and equipment to perform test tasks.Test Support * Develop in house electrical test capability * Build database of electrical test profiles based on lessons learned * Develop internal electrical test standards to be applied across all project * Support external test houses in the set-up of systems prior to testing * Provide work instructions to test houses to enable efficient transfer of test equipment. Support Project team with analysis of Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA) * Report validation status to the project team and management on a regular basis. Contribute to the improvements of the laboratory's tools such as : instruction sheet, development and validationKPIs + Process: * Create daily and weekly activity report on project and non project related activities using dashboards made available * Familiarise with working system using bench equipment to enable view on delivered product and to understand customer problems * Complete scheduled tasks within assigned projects to deliver system output to the project team as per agreed timing plan * Create System Feature list and support feature planning for phase or milestone target implementation in coordination with customer and internal stakeholdersWhat you need to apply: * Technician in Electronics or similar. Engineering degree (Electronic & Electrical Engineering) a bonus * Key understanding of equipment with knowledge of bench electrical testing: Oscilloscopes – competent at triggering, measuring start-up times etc. Multimeters/Current probes * Test racks – GPIB, multiple interfaces etc * Data recording – excel, graph plotting, tabulating, coherent results * Innovative ideas on how to re-create possible 'fail' states (e.g. ignition / start-up are crucial periods for electrical equipment in car and components must be robust to cranking profiles) * Any background knowledge on automotive systems : Car batteries – operate at 12V ~100A, Power – CCA (cold cranking amps) can raise to excess of 1000A for short periods and Inrush currents * Basic knowledge of CAN / LIN and other automotive interface (DTC) * Soldering, reworking, schematic / layout / datasheet reading – leading to figuring out which signals to probe (Reset, clocks, interfacing signals between ICs etc)
