Employment Matters is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic qualified Solicitor with 1+ year of experience to join their dynamic team. As a qualified Solicitor at Employment Matters, you will play a crucial role in providing expert legal advice and representation to clients on a wide range of employment law matters. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs and guide them through often complex and sensitive legal processes. Key Responsibilities: Client consultation and case management: Conduct initial consultations with clients to assess their legal needs. Manage a caseload of employment law matters, including unfair dismissals, workplace discrimination, redundancy disputes, wage claims, and contract negotiations. Provide clear, practical, and tailored legal advice to clients. Legal documentation and representation: Draft, review, and file legal documents such as claims, affidavits, contracts, settlement agreements, and tribunal applications. Represent clients at mediation, settlement talks, and Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) hearings. Advocate effectively on behalf of clients in employment law disputes and appeals. Research and analysis: Stay up-to-date with developments in employment law legislation and case law. Conduct legal research to support case preparation and strategy. Collaboration and communication: Liaise with other solicitors, barristers, and legal professionals. Maintain effective communication with clients, keeping them informed of case processes and developments. Work collaboratively with colleagues to share knowledge and expertise. Maintain accurate and organized case files and records. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Manage billing and timekeeping in accordance with firm policies. Qualification and Skills: Qualified solicitors with 1+ year of post-qualification experience. Strong understanding of employment law principles, procedures, and practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize with clients. Strong advocacy and negotiation skills. Ability to manage a diverse caseload efficiently and effectively. Proficiency in legal research and analysis. High level of attention to detail and organizational skills. Commitment to providing high-quality client service.
