Deputy Building Services Department Manager

Job Summary
We are now recruiting for a Deputy Building Services Department Manager for the Dublin Office due to our expanding Building Services team and growing project workload.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Duties
* Handle the day-to-day tasks of the Department Manager if they are absent
* Ensure activities follow company work flows
* Maintain strong client relationships to attract, win and deliver projects
* Provide leadership to the team, communicate company/team/individual goals and set clear performance expectations
* Manage the graduate development programme
* Assist in graduate recruitment activities
* Develop systems to improve and standardise project execution
* Lead graduate performance and development activities
* Participate in proposal and business development activities as required
* Actively support the CPD programme
* Lead and coordinate Project Governance activities such as single discipline design reviews and project health checks
Technical Responsibilities
* Champion Health & Safety in design and construction within Building Services
* Mentoring of team specifically graduates to improve and develop their skill sets within the Group
* The Deputy Manager is to function as a Lead on Projects
* Refine and improve on an ongoing basis the interaction with other Disciplines
* Interact with Clients with a view to building positive working relationships and securing future Projects / Opportunities
* Improve the efficiency of the department's work processes along with supporting the Building Services community on scope
* Support and drive innovation within the Building Services Department to ensure PM Group remains at the fore in Building Services
* Promote and participate in the Group DePD Programme
* Responsible for all aspects of technical quality of discipline deliverables including checking, use of proper forms and work procedures along with all discipline related calculations and respective software programs
* Develop, identify and implement suitable tools, procedures and standards to enhance the delivery of the Discipline deliverables
* Adhere to the company quality system as written in the Quality Manual, Quality Procedures and the Standard Operating Procedures and the specific project procedures
* Continuous improvement and alignment with the Central Engineering Group along with implementing procedures
* Support the development and implementation of relevant training within the Building Services Department and to other Engineering disciplines
Requirements
Qualifications
* Qualified to at least Degree Level 8
* Strong preference for professional status (e.g. Chartered Engineer or discipline equivalent)
Experience
* Team management experience within project engineering, pharma / bio life sciences, medical devices, food, mission critical or similar industry
* Demonstrated ability to successfully win and deliver business projects
* Minimum of 7 years' experience in discipline area with a minimum of 5 years in a design office environment
* Must have previous experience as the Building Services Design Lead on projects

* Technically competent on all aspects of discipline design
* Design Co-ordination across multiple disciplines, AE team, Vendors and System Owners
* Strong management and leadership skills and commercial awareness
* Excellent interpersonal, organisational, multi-tasking and communication skills
* Ability to build, lead, develop and motivate a team of high-performing professionals
* Strong presentation & problem-solving skills
* Strong attention to detail and reporting skills
