Payroll Specialist
We are seeking a knowledgeable Payroll Specialist to manage our clients weekly and monthly payroll operations in Galway. In this role, you will ensure employees are paid accurately and on time while addressing all payroll-related queries.
Responsibilities:
* Manage, prepare, and process weekly and monthly payroll for hourly and salaried employees using Sage Micropay.
* Maintain and manage the Time & Attendance system to calculate hours worked.
* Understand and implement company policies as required.
* Work closely with HR to ensure accurate employee information for payroll processing.
* Reconcile compensatory benefits and payroll taxes while adhering to all relevant regulations.
* Address employee payroll questions promptly and professionally.
* Participate in process improvements to streamline payroll preparation.
* Update HRM and payroll systems with employee information as needed.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role.
* Payroll/Accounting qualification is a bonus.
* Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and regulations.
* Proficiency in MS Office, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Excellent communication skills and high attention to detail.
* Trustworthiness and commitment to confidentiality.
* Prior experience working alongside an HR team is an advantage.
