Job Title: Packaging Operator
Location: Cork (Onsite)
Reporting to: Packaging Manager
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Technical Proficiency: Experience in operating, adjusting, and maintaining relevant machines.
2. Quality Control and Compliance: Skilled in conducting quality controls and adhering to health, safety, and environmental procedures.
3. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve unsafe situations and technical problems.
4. Collaboration and Coordination: Strong skills in coordinating production processes and consulting with relevant departments.
5. Continuous Improvement Mindset: Proactive in initiating improvement proposals and performing autonomous maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivered Production / Controlled Production Process
1. Monitor and process orders according to the production order, taking into account established standards, regulations, and instructions.
2. Manage workstations within own work area under standard conditions, with at least one workstation under non-standard conditions.
3. Commission, set up, operate, and adjust relevant machines.
4. Reconfigure, set up, and clean the machine.
5. Visually check the process flow and equipment operation.
6. Register deviations from standards (product, safety, quality, etc.) according to instructions in the designated systems and escalate according to the escalation model.
7. Coordinate the production process within the work area.
8. Collaborate with relevant departments in the supply chain to ensure the production process follows the production order.
9. Coordinate machine change-overs (changeover parts and packaging materials according to the production plan), start-up and shutdown of the production line.
10. Block packaging materials and finished products if the (final) product does not meet the required quality standards, in coordination with the Lead operator.
11. Consult with relevant departments about production progress.
12. Can identify unsafe situations and follow existing procedures to resolve them.
Maintaining Basic Conditions and Resolving All Types of Losses
1. Initiate improvement proposals based on trends and act on them.
2. Contribute and use of TPM (Continuous improvement methodology).
3. Conduct quality controls according to the required sample requests, identify deviations in the sub-process, intervene in the sub-process.
Workplace management and realized maintenance
1. Conduct quality controls. Execution of autonomous maintenance (cleaning, lubricating, inspecting, and tightening (securing)) within own work area.
2. Perform inspections related to fluid transport, control systems, connections & materials, pneumatics, and drive & transmission systems.
3. Identify deviations and technical problems/malfunctions (report via tag) and resolve or isolate standard technical malfunctions (first line).
4. Perform corrective maintenance on first line issues.
5. Can perform proper analysis on all mechanical failures and resolve nearly all of these independently.
6. Assist Maintenance Department employees with planned maintenance on the column during maintenance days and overhauls.
Responsible production and functioning
1. Take initiative to interrupt the production process in case of a hazardous situation or identified technical or quality deviations (restore standards).
2. Comply with legal and company-mandated procedures in the areas of health, safety, and the environment.
