Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Cost Manager to join our Industrial, Science and Technology team in Dublin.
Key Responsibilities
1. Working as part of a team focused on estimating and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plans.
2. Assisting with tendering and procurement activity, including managing the pre-qualification stage, producing the tender list, preliminaries, tender analysis, tender report and compiling the contractual documents.
3. Assisting with timely and accurate cost checks and valuations.
4. Producing monthly post contract cost reports and presenting them to the client.
5. Participate effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes.
6. Contribute to cost risk analysis and provide input into value engineering.
7. Help to maintain central feedback and learning on cost estimating from prospects and projects and contribute to updating of best practices in estimating.
8. Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages.
9. Establish strong working relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
10. Proactive and ambitious to support the delivery of cost management services on challenging projects and programmes.
11. Role will suit an individual who feels comfortable working as part of a large team or acting independently as the key day-to-day contact point with the client and design team, with support from the wider cost management team.
12. Undertaking reporting/analysis.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
1. Cost planning – all project stages.
2. Benchmarking of costs.
3. Understanding of methods of construction and procurement.
4. Value Management and Engineering.
5. Good problem-solving capability.
6. Collaborative approach, able to develop strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, internally and externally.
7. Good organization skills.
8. Technical knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical services is preferred, particularly in the following sectors: Data centres, Life Sciences, Pharma, Biotech or other related facility asset types.
Qualifications
1. Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification accredited by the RICS/SCSI or equivalent is preferred.
2. Competency in utilizing computer software for cost planning and contract administration would be beneficial.
3. Strong experience with spreadsheets and databases.
4. Good command of software such as Costx, MS Suite, Bluebeam would be preferred.
5. Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment to manage client expectations and deliver high-quality service.
6. Role will suit a highly motivated individual who is ambitious and looking for an opportunity to develop personally with a clear path for progression.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. Right to work in the Republic of Ireland and EU.
