Key Responsibilities
1. To ensure the hotel achieves the Leading Hotels of the World Quality Assurance targets and delivers consistently high deluxe quality that guests expect.
2. To provide excellent care to our guests.
3. To maintain areas of responsibility in a clean and well-maintained state, adhering to cleaning checklists.
4. To keep work areas, including the Facilities workshop & Cage, clean and tidy.
5. To report defective materials and equipment to the appropriate individual.
6. To control the ambience in departments (lights, music, and temperature).
7. To promote security throughout the hotel.
8. To have strong product knowledge of all areas of the hotel.
9. To accept flexible work schedules necessary for uninterrupted service to hotel guests and to maintain flexibility within teams.
10. To provide support where necessary in other areas of the hotel.
People Management
1. To attend appraisal and job chats reviews when requested by the Director of Facilities.
2. To understand and comply with the hotel's employee handbook.
3. To attend departmental daily briefings and lead briefings in the absence of the Director of Facilities.
4. To attend monthly departmental meetings/General Team Meetings, ECCM when required.
5. To adhere to the hotel's grooming procedures.
6. To speak English at all times in the hotel to promote social inclusion.
7. To clock in and out of the Timepoint at the start and finish of each shift and for breaks.
8. To inform your manager if you did not receive your break entitlement.
Specific Duties
1. To carry out all duties in line with departmental Standards Manual (Leading Quality Assurance).
2. To guide the Facilities team in their daily tasks and report back to the Director of Facilities.
3. To liaise with other departments to ensure that all guest requests are attended to efficiently.
4. To rectify any maintenance issues within the hotel in a timely manner.
5. To monitor and control costs in all areas, energy saving, etc.
6. To carry out regular hotel inspections to identify maintenance requirements.
7. To carry out PAT testing when required.
8. To assist the Director of Facilities with the Preventative Maintenance programme.
9. To ensure guests' safety by eliminating potential risks and hazards.
10. To check and replace used fire extinguishers immediately.
11. To ensure all equipment required for the Fire evacuation procedures are checked on a monthly basis and in correct working order.
12. To check the defibrillator on a monthly basis.
13. To order First Aid equipment when required.
14. To maintain all facilities of the hotel to the highest standard.
15. To monitor all purchasing in maintenance in line with the purchasing policy of the hotel.
16. To ensure that a safe and secure environment for guests, employees, and visitors is maintained.
17. To operate all equipment in line with trained instructions and maintain it in a clean working condition.
18. To use and store all hazardous substances in line with trained instructions.
19. To wear protective clothing as per safety procedures.
20. To prioritize and complete all jobs according to departmental standards and within an appropriate timeframe, informing guests and relevant managers where necessary.
21. To ensure that all work complies with safety standards.
22. To maintain stocks to the required level.
23. To ensure that all bedrooms are checked on a rota basis and maintenance problems are corrected.
24. To ensure that public areas are checked daily and maintenance problems are corrected in a timely fashion.
25. To be knowledgeable and informed about the introduction of products.
26. To carry out cleaning as required.
27. To carry out MOD shifts when required.
