Join a dynamic and growing team in Galway We are looking for an Applications Engineer to work on innovative solutions within the water and wastewater technology industry.
This exciting role offers a hybrid working model, combining office-based and remote work, with occasional site visits to engage directly with customers and partners.
Responsibilities:
6. Conduct research on global water and wastewater markets, including customer and partner ecosystems, market technology trends, and global challenges in the industry.
7. Meet with customers to identify and understand their problems and pain points, including executives, facilities managers, consulting engineers, and field operators in municipal and industrial settings.
8. Communicate how solutions address general industry challenges and specific site-related issues to key stakeholders.
9. Prepare technical and commercial documents such as proposals, tenders, white papers, and grant applications with strong writing and presentation skills.
10. Use visuals and graphics effectively to enhance communication of problems and solutions.
11. Collect and review tenders, supporting the preparation of proposals and bids to align with specified requirements.
12. Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines for deliverables and contribute to construction or installation projects in the water and wastewater sectors.
13. Assess material and equipment costs, pricing structures, and margins for commercial engineering tasks.
14. Organize and conduct site visits to gather performance data, engage with facilities managers and field operators, and perform tasks such as site reconnaissance, measurements, and sampling.
15. Maintain a valid driver's license and availability for international travel to meet clients in various regions.
16. Work towards targets set by the Technical Lead or Executive Management Team, reporting progress and outcomes effectively.
17. Operate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, maintaining efficiency under pressure while applying strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
18. Demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, and exhibit flexibility, independence, and creativity in resolving project challenges.
Requirements:
19. Proven experience in design, analysis, sales, or application engineering, preferably in civil or mechanical engineering disciplines related to water and wastewater treatment infrastructure, design, or construction, or within the general construction industry.
20. Undergraduate degree in an engineering field required, with a preference for Civil or Environmental Engineering.
21. Preferred five years of related experience and/or training.
22. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in written and spoken English.
23. Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
24. Ability to provide efficient, timely, dependable, and courteous service to customers and author technical reports and correspondence.
25. Responsive to customers, partners, and internal colleagues.
26. Capable of effectively presenting information to internal teams and/or groups of employees.
27. Proven analytical and quantitative skills with experience developing solutions to problems, drawing on the analysis of others, and making recommendations with direct project impact.
28. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
29. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and drawing software such as CAD.
30. Ability to solve advanced technical problems and navigate complex situations with multiple options.
31. Understanding of wastewater treatment technologies and related equipment, including aeration equipment and biological processes, is highly beneficial.
32. Ability to read, understand, analyze, and comment on technical documents, including agreements, project charters, surveys, schematics, drawings, and specifications.
33. Familiarity with mechanical equipment specifications.
