Job Description
This is a 12 month fixed term contract, with potential to turn into permanent, role located in Newry for an Account Technician.
Responsibilities:
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
* Preparing and submitting VAT returns ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
* Preparing month-end financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
* Assisting with tax compliance, including preparing tax returns, calculating tax liabilities, and liaising with tax authorities as required.
* Communicating with clients on a regular basis to provide updates on their financial status and answer any questions they may have.
* Weekly processing of Payroll.
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of CIS/RCT.
* Maintenance of inventory & financial reporting.
Qualifications/Experience:
* Qualified through IATI or an Accounting Higher Level or 5 years experience.
* 3 years experience in a similar accounts position.
* Experience of sage advantageous, but not essential.
* Proficiency in Invoicing tasks.
* Strong Communication skills both verbal and written.
* Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
* Experience with accounting software and tools.
* Previous experience in a mechanical engineering environment is a plus.
* Relevant certifications or a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
