CEO Our client, Cavan Credit Union, a prominent community credit union in County Cavan, is seeking to recruit a dynamic Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This is a unique opportunity to lead a large community-based credit union with assets exceeding €75 million and a dedicated team of 20 employees. The CEO will play a pivotal role in reporting to the Board of Directors and leading the credit union, the management and staff team, to meet the financial needs of its members in the future in line with credit union ethos. This position offers an excellent opportunity for leadership growth and influence in a strongly performing credit union. The Role The CEO will be responsible through the management and staff team for achieving the strategic, financial and operational goals, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing leadership across all areas of the credit union. Collaboration with the senior management team and regular engagement with staff are essential to foster a member-focused ethos and culture of continual change and organisation development. The CEO will work with the Board to drive strategic developments and deliver on the credit union's strategic plan working with the management and staff team. This is a PCF-approved role. The CEO reports to the Board of Directors through the Chairperson. The Person The ideal candidate will have a proven record of accomplishment in the financial services, banking, fintech, or credit union sector. They will possess strong senior management and leadership experience appropriate to leading a large credit union. The candidate must hold qualifications relevant in the finance sector and will preferably hold other qualifications in areas such as business, management, IT, strategy, change, or project management, and have completed personal leadership development programmes. Essential management experience includes several of the following:- senior-level management, lending, investments, banking/credit union operations and products and services, digital services and digital transformation, financial management and P&L and balance sheet management, risk, compliance, business development, board reporting, Central Bank of Ireland reporting, and project management, amongst others. Salary is negotiable, DOE. Contract & Hours This is a full-time, permanent contract. Flexibility in working hours is essential, as the CEO will attend Board and Committee meetings outside normal working hours and represent the credit union at events, sometimes in the evenings and at weekends.
