Job Description
The Workforce Support Manager will directly provide employees and leaders with day-to-day HR consulting support. S/he will be a member of the Asia Pacific Workforce Support Team, with the primary support assignments of handling employee relation issues and providing consultancy on HR policies and procedures to employees and managers in Greater China. S/he will also provide support across multiple groups/sites as needed. Reporting to the Workforce Support Leader, this individual will be the main point of contact for employees and managers regarding employee relations and co-own employee engagement and satisfaction for the region.
Key Areas of Responsibility
1. Provide positive employee relations and manager capability support across our sites.
2. Recommend ER strategies and initiatives that will support employee morale and engagement.
3. Work in strong collaboration with other workforce support tiers to ensure employee inquiries and issues are resolved in a timely, friendly, and comprehensive way.
4. Support employees and managers on HR activities such as promotions, investigations, absenteeism management, corrective actions, PIPs terms, and restructuring activities.
5. Primary liaison with HR workforce support leadership regarding policy reviews.
6. Support leaders on finding and using resources on core processes such as GPS, Performance Management, Development, etc.
7. Coach employees and leaders as needed on how to navigate and resolve key leadership processes and manage conflicts.
8. Maintain effective partnerships with local government and labor unions on committee development, retiree rehire, and communication facilitation.
9. Manage employee wellbeing related special cases that need to align with EHS/Government/Legal requirements.
10. Support key projects focused on new process or capability development/enhancement.
Qualifications
Key Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required.
2. More than 10 years of experience in Human Resources along with proven experience in Employee Relations.
3. The role will require occasional travel to various manufacturing sites across the region.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
5. Ability to manage multiple priorities/cases at once, knowing when to reach out for support and escalate as needed.
6. Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with employees, functional leaders, local labor unions, local government, and other stakeholders.
7. Thorough understanding of human resources and labor relations principles, practices, and procedures.
8. Ability to successfully use digital case management and workflow management tools to complete core activities.
9. Ability to approach issues or disagreements with the objective of reaching win/win solutions.
10. Ability to compile, research, interpret, and analyze information and data.
11. Ability to compose and present comprehensive reports.
