Job Introduction
As Deputy Manager, you will be the senior member of the childcare team and work closely with the Manager and staff to maintain high-quality standards at the service.
Main Responsibilities:
* To report to the Manager
* To act as Designated Person in charge in the absence of the Manager
Leadership Roles:
* Be responsible for recruitment, management, training, motivation, and performance of all staff
* In consultation with the Manager, ensure a dynamic emergent curriculum is delivered to meet individual child needs
* Monitor and maintain agreed quality and safety standards
Safety and Compliance:
* Monitor child protection issues, parent concerns, complaints, near-misses, incidents, and accidents
* Take remedial action immediately and record all issues and actions
* Report to the Manager and Child Support
Development and Sustainability:
* Develop the service to its full potential
* Source additional funding opportunities and complete applications in a timely manner
* Maintain professional relationships with external agencies, including TUSLA and the Early Intervention Team
* Review and monitor occupancy levels to ensure maximum capacity
Requirements:
* Minimum level 6 in childcare qualification
* Level 7/8 preferred
* Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in an early years setting, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role
* Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of inclusive early childhood education and care
* Knowledge of current legislation relevant to the early years
