Your new company

They strive to develop long-term relationships with their clients and partners through communication, cooperation, and mutual respect. Some of the sectors they cover are residential, retail, commercial, leisure, education, infrastructure, logistics and warehousing projects. They are now looking for a Structural Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis to assist with the increased workload.
Due to their dedication to an integrated design approach, they have expanded their clientele to include a diverse range of sectors and some of the largest corporations globally, including the logistics industry, where they manage a portfolio of Automated Distribution Centres and Blue-chip clients.
Your new role
* You will liaise directly with their Firm Management Team as well as the Senior and Junior Engineering Staff daily.
* As your career develops, the position may eventually need some foreign travel, mostly to the UK, although it will predominantly be office-based.
* Projects in Ireland, the United Kingdom, Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East are undertaken by your new company.
* The chosen applicant will be expected to collaborate with more experienced engineers and technicians in their UK, Bath, and Dublin offices on structural design projects at various scales in the logistics, residential, retail, and commercial sectors.
Duties and responsibilities:
* Creating steel portal frames, mezzanine structures, composite structures, connecting designs, multi-story structures, floor slabs, foundations, and retaining walls, among other structural engineering designs in steel, concrete, and wood.
* Utilizing 3D structural modelling software for structural analysis and design.
* Preparing reports and specifications.
* Preparing sketches by hand and using software to communicate design principles.
* Preparing drawings and other project deliverables in close collaboration with technicians.
* Organizing, cooperating, and communicating with clients and other members of the project team both internally and externally.
* Carrying out site visits and surveys, accompanying our senior engineers initially.
* Assisting with project management.
What you’ll need to succeed
* Civil / Structural Engineering degree (Level 8 or higher) MSc is a distinct advantage.
* 2 – 5 years of experience and be pursuing professional development to become chartered engineers with the IEI, ICE, or IStructE.
* The ideal applicant will have strong interpersonal and communication skills in the English language, experience utilizing 3D modelling software (Tekla Structural Designer, Robot, ETABS, etc.), and some experience working to Eurocodes/British Standards.
