Job Summary
This role is key to sourcing and managing materials, equipment and services essential to all of our construction projects whilst maintaining good working relations with the supply chain while always driving value for the business.
Main Duties
1. Maintain strong working relationships with strategic suppliers to assure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met.
2. Work closely with Project Managers and site teams to understand project requirements and timelines.
3. Place orders in line with company processes and ensure deliveries are booked in with site teams in line with the site logistics arrangements.
4. Ensure the ‘on-hold’ process is adhered to and all queries & disputes are dealt with in a timely manner for your allocated suppliers.
5. Ensure Goods Received Notes are received for your allocated jobs and entered into the system in a timely manner.
6. Identify long lead items in conjunction with site teams to ensure orders are placed far enough in advance to allow works to happen as scheduled.
7. Weigh up quotations from potential suppliers.
8. Negotiate prices.
9. Review what goods, services and equipment are needed and plan future stock levels.
10. Research and identify new products and suppliers.
11. Analyse spending trends on your allocated jobs.
12. Assist the Procurement Manager as and when required.
Key Skills Qualifications & Experience Requirements
1. Related qualification in procurement or equivalent.
2. Proven relevant experience in procurement, supply chain or purchasing role.
3. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
4. Analytical skills and attention to detail relevant experience.
5. Team player with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
6. Proven experience in managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
