Excel Recruitment is delighted to partner with a leading Irish Main Contractor with over 100 years in business in recruiting a Health & Safety Officer for their growing safety team in Dublin. This is a fantastic permanent opportunity to join a progressive contractor that puts safety at the forefront of everything they do.
Responsibilities for Health & Safety Officer
* Ensure safety remains a top priority across all site operations
* Maintain a strong health & safety record and reinforce a positive safety culture
* Monitor and evaluate health & safety conditions, promoting improvement and prevention
* Assist the SHEQ Manager in staff safety training and development
* Conduct site audits, safety inspections, and risk assessments
* Prepare method statements, safety statements, and risk assessments
* Ensure compliance with all H&S legislation, ISO standards (9001, 14001, 18001) and SafeT Cert
* Support tender documentation and pre-qualification processes
* Liaise with site teams and management to ensure all safety protocols are implemented effectively
Requirements for Health & Safety Officer
* Professional H&S Degree Qualification
* 5+ years’ experience on construction sites
* Strong knowledge of H&S legislation, procedures, and best practices
* Experience maintaining accident-free sites
* Familiarity with ISO standards (9001, 14001, 18001) and SafeT Cert is an advantage
* Ability to influence personnel at all levels within an organisation
* Strong communication, organisational, and IT skills
