Job Title: Senior Speech and Language Therapist – CDNT
Location: Sligo
Salary: Competitive, in line with HSE pay scales
Working Hours: Full Time Monday – Friday
Contract: 6 months
About the Role:
Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join their dynamic Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) based in Sligo. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive multidisciplinary team environment, helping children and young people with complex needs reach their full potential.
As a Senior Speech and Language Therapist, you will assess, diagnose, and provide therapeutic interventions for children with a range of communication difficulties, including speech, language, social communication, and feeding issues. You will work closely with families, schools, and other professionals to deliver high-quality, child-centred services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide comprehensive speech and language therapy assessments and interventions to children and young people with complex disabilities.
2. Develop individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.
3. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care.
4. Support, mentor, and provide clinical supervision to junior therapists and students.
5. Engage with families and caregivers to provide education and support regarding their child’s communication needs.
6. Participate in service development initiatives and quality improvement projects.
Requirements:
1. A recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
2. A minimum of 3-5 years post-qualification experience, with at least 2 years working with children with disabilities.
3. CORU registration or eligibility to register.
4. Strong knowledge of the challenges and interventions related to communication disorders in children with developmental disabilities.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable:
1. Experience working in a Children’s Disability Network Team.
2. Postgraduate training in relevant areas such as feeding disorders, AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication), or autism spectrum disorders.
