On behalf of our client, Auxilia Group is hiring a Development & New Business Officer to help drive the growth of a not-for-profit housing organisation with a strong social impact. You’ll support housing development and acquisition projects from start to finish — helping deliver high-quality homes across Dublin and the wider Leinster region.
Role Overview
The Development & New Business Officer will support the organisation's development and acquisitions strategy, ensuring delivery of high-quality housing projects aligned with business objectives. This is a key role within a small but dynamic team, requiring both operational delivery and strategic input.
The ideal candidate will have a blend of commercial awareness, project management skills, and a passion for making a difference in the housing sector.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
1. Conduct feasibility and risk assessments for potential housing projects.
2. Liaise with local authorities for project support and funding opportunities.
3. Represent the organisation in engagements with developers, contractors, agents, and public bodies.
4. Prepare proposals for internal and external stakeholders.
5. Support procurement processes in line with company policies and financial regulations.
6. Manage timely and accurate documentation for regulatory and funding requirements.
Project Management
1. Assist in managing new construction, acquisitions, and lease agreements from inception through to handover.
2. Support various aspects of development delivery including financial appraisals, planning, budgeting, contract oversight, and risk management.
3. Attend site meetings, liaise with contractors and consultants and address issues as they arise.
4. Ensure project compliance with relevant legislation and government guidance.
5. Facilitate smooth transition of completed properties into asset management, resolving any post-handover issues promptly.
Governance & Reporting
1. Maintain project tracking systems and development milestones database.
2. Ensure robust audit trails and documentation are maintained throughout project lifecycles.
3. Assist in preparing reports for the board and committees and collaborate with finance on cost and risk assessments.
Strategic and Operational Support
1. Contribute to organisational growth plans and strategic delivery.
2. Support performance and service improvement planning.
3. Assist in maintaining an accurate asset register and contribute to budget oversight.
4. Uphold data protection, confidentiality and health and safety standards.
Ensure services comply with current regulations and organisational policy.
