The Grade VII Quality & Patient Safety Co-ordinator will report to the Grade VIII Quality, Patient Safety and Risk Manager, Maternity Services Directorate, HSE S/SWHG.
The post holder will, under the direction of the Clinical Directors for the Directorate and CUMH, be supported by the members of the Ireland South Women and Infants Directorate Executive Management Team.
The Directorate Role is supported by a Business Manager in each of the maternity sites and the Hospital Role is supported by a Business Manager & Finance Manager at Grade VIII and a number of Grade VII posts.
The post holder will be responsible for the professional management of a health and safety /risk management programme and, in particular, for the introduction and implementation of measures to align our maternity services with the National Maternity Strategy.
The aim of this post is to strengthen the Clinical Governance, Resource Management and Risk Reduction under a new Regional Clinical Director.
To ensure a proactive approach to Incident and Risk Management across the region
Be familiar with the National Standards for Safer Better Healthcare and participate in the self-assessment process.
All Quality & Safety issues for the Maternity Services in the region will be escalated to this office and this post holder will co-ordinate and oversee Incident Report Forms, NIMS input, Internal and External Reviews and Systems Analysis Reviews.
