Your main responsibility will be to act as a manager, clinical consultant, educator, researcher and auditor in all matters relating to diabetes care, ensuring the provision of a patient-focused quality service. You will also be responsible for implementing health promotion strategies for patient/client groups in accordance with the public health agenda.
Responsibilities
* Ensure that all diabetic services policies, guidelines, and protocols are research/evidence-based and updated as required.
* Promote good inter-professional teamwork.
* Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team in the hospital and community to ensure a standardized approach to diabetes is maintained.
* Implement changes in healthcare services in response to patient/client need and service demand.
Requirements
* Have a minimum of 2 years' experience in the specialist area of Diabetes.
* Have a minimum of 5 years post-registration nursing experience, with 2 years in an acute hospital environment.
* Possess a Level 8 or higher post-registration National Qualifications Authority of Ireland major academic award relevant to the specialist area of diabetes.
* Be registered or eligible to be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives by NMBI.
* Have strong Leadership, Communication, Organisation, and Time Management skills.
* Able to proactively work with other members of the team.
* Must be computer literate.
Package on Offer
* A competitive salary of €50,000 - €60,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications in line with the approved HSE pay scale.
* This position is pensionable.
