Job Title: Psychologist
Contract: 6 months Fixed Term Contract, Full-time 35 hours per week
Location: National Learning Network – Co. Donegal
Job Purpose: The purpose of the role is to develop and implement psychological interventions that meet individual service-users’ needs by providing holistic assessment and direct support and guidance to service-users and staff alike.
Minimum Education & Experience required:
* Relevant Master’s and/or Doctorate level, professional qualification in Psychology recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland
* Chartered membership (or eligible for) with the Psychological Society of Ireland or Chartered membership (or eligible for) of the British Psychological Society.
* At least 3 years work experience in the field of Learning Disability/Autism/Mental Health/Physical or Sensory Disability
* An understanding of the Recovery Approach and of Person Centred Planning would be an advantage
* Good organisational and time management skills
* The ability to develop positive relationships both internally and externally
* Comprehensive knowledge of disability and the potential impact of training and preparation for employment can have
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Professional, positive and confident approach
* Know and implement professional boundaries and best practice
* Delivery of information and facilitation skills an advantage
* Have a good knowledge of the National Guidance Children First and the HSE Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Policy
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Support Planning: Support students/service users and staff to identify personal goals and learning, social, emotional, cognitive needs. Prepare for Individual Action Plan (IAP) or Person-Centred Planning meetings. Contribute to intake assessments.
2. Psychological Assessment: Undertake appropriate psychological assessments using data from psychological tests, self-report measures, direct and indirect observations, and interviews with students/service users and stakeholders. Summarise results in professional and accessible reports.
3. Psychological Intervention & Support: Design and implement high-quality, formulation-driven psychological interventions based on evidence-based practice. Monitor and evaluate effectiveness and make adjustments as necessary.
4. Practice Support & Systems Level Intervention: Provide support, consultation, and guidance to staff to ensure high-quality support in line with best practice.
5. Clinical Supervision: Provide regular supervision and training to Rehabilitation Officers, Trainee Psychologists, and Assistant Psychologists.
6. Internal & External Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with colleagues and stakeholders. Communicate effectively to ensure integrated service provision.
7. Quality Improvement Initiatives & Project Work: Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and working groups related to the psychology team.
8. Governance & Quality Assurance: Identify, assess, monitor, and manage risks within each psychologist’s area of responsibility.
9. Research & Evaluation: Conduct research that aligns with Rehab’s strategic vision and priorities.
Operational Environment: This Psychologist role is a multi-site role based in NLN Donegal, NLN Sligo, and NLN Leitrim.

* Full, clean driving licence and personal transport; travel required.
* Police certificate from countries resided prior to coming to Ireland may be required.
Annual Salary: Salary range of €49 – 74K per annum.
