Diabetes Care Kilkenny
Our new manufacturing facility in Kilkenny, opening in 2024, reflects the growing demand for Abbott's global Diabetes Care products. The facility will be a centre for world-class engineering, quality, medical device manufacturing, and other science-based professionals to produce life-changing technologies, including the FreeStyle Libre 3, a system that automatically delivers real-time, up-to-the-minute glucose readings, with the smallest and thinnest wearable glucose sensor that provides unsurpassed 14-day accuracy and optional glucose alarms directly to smartphones. This enables people with diabetes to live the best and fullest lives they can.

As a Lead Operator, in Abbott, Kilkenny you will ensure that production targets and schedules are achieved for their line.
Assist the Operations team lead in achieving the goals of the process area.
Provides guidance and a source of information for operators and support groups in the area.
Responsible for their line’s performance with respect to safety, quality, on-time delivery and cost
Your main responsibilities will be:
1. Co-ordinates aspects of the production area workflow (i.e. people, products, and materials) to meet Master Schedule requirements.
2. Coordinates work assignments within the production department that includes training, technical support and/or process/trouble shooting support.
3. Works with internal resources to resolve problems.
4. As the Process Line Subject Matter Expert (SME), represents production on projects when needed and train other employees when necessary.
5. Responsible for the startup and shut down of their line or area.
6. Coordinate break schedules and assist with machine operation during breaks.
7. Assembles, repairs, inspects and/or tests products following written instructions. Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions and other work-related documents, written in English.
8. Set up and operates a variety of manufacturing machines or equipment following written instructions in the English language.
9. Clean tools and equipment per documented procedures.
10. Record information on approved documents.
11. Responsible for compliance with applicable corporate and divisional policies and procedures.
12. Solves a wide range of complex problems requiring advanced interpretation of generally defined procedures and practices.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
13. Minimum education - Leaving Certificate.
14. Previous experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in a Senior Operator role, with demonstrated ability to acquire and apply manufacturing principals is preferred.
15. Experience working in a highly automated, high volume manufacturing environment preferred. Previous experience working in the medical device, pharma, automotive, tech, food industries preferred.
16. Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment. Multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner. Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills and ability to hold others accountable.
