Position: Staff Grade Physiotherapist Contract: Permanent Hours: Full Time Salary range: HSE Consolidated pay-scale 1st Oct 2024 Reporting to: Physiotherapy Manager **** Full Job Description Attached **** PURPOSE OF POST To provide a quality physiotherapy service to all speciality areas including older persons rehabilitation, in-patient orthopaedics and complex/specialist rehabilitation including neurology/amputee rehab as appropriate. To provide safe, efficient and effective physiotherapy assessments, treatments and interventions for clients in Clontarf Hospital as directed by the Senior Physiotherapist / Physiotherapist Manager To work with the Physiotherapist Manager in ensuring the development, co-ordination and delivery of a quality, patient centered physiotherapy service. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Physiotherapist will:
Be responsible for assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of treatment / intervention programmes for service users according to professional standards Arrange and carry out assessment and treatment/intervention programmes in appropriate settings in line with local policy/guidelines Communicate results of assessments and recommendations to the service user and relevant others as appropriate Document all assessment, diagnosis, treatment/intervention plans, clinical notes, relevant contacts, and summaries in accordance with department and professional standards Collaborate with service user, family, carers and other staff in goal setting and treatment / intervention planning Foster close working relationships with colleagues and other relevant professionals in maximising the service users' potential Provide support and information to service users and relevant others Attend clinics and participate in meetings, case conferences, ward rounds etc.
as appropriate Demonstrate flexibility and work across the various wards as the need arises Carry a full clinical caseload appropriate to the post Participate in multidisciplinary teams, communicating and working in collaboration with the service user and relevant others as part of an integrated package of care Represent the department/profession/team at meetings and conferences as designated Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of standards/strategies for quality improvement and outcome measurement and adhere to existing standards and protocols Actively engage in team-based performance management, where appropriate Maintain professional standards in relation to confidentiality, ethics and legislation Seek advice and assistance from his/her supervisor/manager with any assigned cases or issues that prove to be beyond the scope of his/her professional competence in line with principles of best practice and clinical governance Participate in the clinical education of students as appropriate Operate within the scope of Physiotherapy practice as set out by the local and national guidelines Assist in the identification of the physiotherapy service needs and priorities in the assigned area and participate actively with the Senior Physiotherapist in general development within the area. Participate in and develop activities which support Health Promotion Carry out other duties as assigned by the Physiotherapy Manager ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA QUALFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE 1. Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc (a) Candidates for appointment must:
(i) Hold a Physiotherapy qualification recognised by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.
AND (ii) Be registered on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.
OR (iii) Applicants who satisfy the conditions set out in Section 91 of the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005, (see note 1 below*), must submit proof of application for registration with the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.
The acceptable proof is correspondence from the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU confirming their application for registration as a Section 91 applicant.

Annual registration (i) On appointment practitioners must maintain annual registration on Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU
AND (ii) Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
